Abstract

The main difference between spiral welded pipe and longitudinal welded pipe lies in the different welding forms. Spiral welded pipe is a low carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel strip with a certain helix angle (also known as forming angle) rolled into tube blank, and then welded to make pipe seam. Large diameter steel pipes can be produced from narrow strip steel. Spiral welded pipes are mainly spiral submerged arc welded pipes (SSAW), which are used frequently in the construction of various gas pipelines in China. Its specifications are expressed in "outer diameter * wall thickness. Spiral welded pipe has single-sided welding and double-sided welding. The welded pipe shall ensure that the hydraulic test, tensile strength and cold bending performance of the weld meet the requirements.

spiral welded pipeThe main difference between the longitudinal welded pipe and the longitudinal welded pipe is the different welding forms.

The straight seam welded pipe is a kind of high frequency straight seam welded pipe (ERW). After the coil is formed by the forming machine before welding, it is melted by the proximity effect generated by the high frequency current and the solder layer, and then melted by a certain extrusion force, and then cooled and formed. The edge of the tube blank is melted by the high frequency current and welded by arc welding, which is called the straight submerged arc welded pipe (LSAW).

The strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of straight welded pipe, and the main production process is submerged arc welding. Spiral welded pipe can use the same width of the blank to produce different pipe diameter welded pipe, can also use a narrower blank to produce larger diameter welded pipe.

The production process of longitudinal submerged arc welded pipe is relatively simple, mainly divided into high frequency welding longitudinal welded pipe and submerged arc welding longitudinal welded pipe. Longitudinal welded pipe has high production efficiency, low cost and rapid development.

However, compared with the longitudinal welded pipe of the same length, the weld length is increased by 30~100, and the production speed is low. Therefore, welded pipes with smaller diameters are mostly longitudinal welding, while welded pipes with larger diameters are mostlyspiral welded pipe.

What are the advantages of double-sided submerged arc welded pipe?

The development prospect of the double-sided submerged arc welded pipe industry is very good, because it brings more benefits to the enterprise when in use, so it is favored by customers. In order to let everyone know more, next we will talk about the advantages of double-sided submerged arc welded pipe, hoping to bring help to more people.

An analysis of the factors that lead to porosity in the weld of double-sided submerged arc welded pipes.

As we all know, the quality of double-sided submerged arc welded pipe is determined by the quality of the weld. Once the weld of double-sided submerged arc welded pipe produces pores, it will not only affect the density of the weld, cause pipeline leakage, but also become the corrosion inducing point, seriously reduce the strength and toughness of the weld. Generally speaking, the moisture, dirt, oxide scale and iron filings in the flux, welding composition and covering thickness, steel plate surface quality, steel plate side plate treatment, welding process and steel pipe forming process may be the causes of weld porosity.

Advantage sharing of double-sided submerged arc welded pipe

Double-sided submerged arc welded pipe is a welded steel pipe made of steel plate or steel strip after crimping. It has the advantages of small size deviation, uniform wall thickness, simple production process, high production efficiency, many varieties and specifications, and less equipment investment. However, because the welding performance of welded steel pipes is lower than that of seamless steel pipes, the utilization rate in petrochemical plants is very low. Double-sided submerged arc welded pipe is divided into straight seam and spiral seam according to the weld form.
